Day 92

Mama, it's COLD outside!  On the way to my 5k early this morning, I passed this creek/pond area right off the main street.  It's been in the 20s and teens for most of the week - very odd weather for North Texas. It's not very often that we get cold enough to freeze out the ducks!

Day 91

Race ready. It's only a 5K, but it's the middle miles of a long run scheduled for 16. Which will just about match the outside temperature... Oy. Have I mentioned that I'm in TEXAS!? But it must be done, and it will be done. Once I get there, I have no choice but to turn around and run home. Post-race snacks will serve as fuel for the last 10K home. And tomorrow night? More apple-cherry pie!

Day 90

So, ideally, there would be a great burnt-orange tribute or something here today, celebrating another National Championship. And yet, not so much. Instead, I drowned my sorrows in a nice warm-from-the-oven cherry-apple pie with Bluebell. It kinda made it better. No, not really.

Day 89

During a particularly boring workout this evening (nine miles on a treadmill - you can remove the spork from my eye now), I had lots of time to think about why I do this running thing that I do. Little shiny things aren't the only reason, but they are definitely high on the list!

Day 88

This little guy looks like he's made of chocolate, but sadly, he's not. If he was, I wouldn't mind having so many Lego pieces all over my house!

Day 87

Found this pinecone in a drawer the other day, and it's been sitting patiently on my nightstand waiting for its portait session.

Choices, choices, choices! This is why I avoid the new Quik Trip around the corner as much as possible!
