Day 326

Texas, Texas, yee-haw! After being told I would lose some Texas points for never having line-danced, I had to earn them back by showing my Lone Star colors!

Day 318

What passes for a cool front in Texas in August: outside temp @ 3:30 was *only* 87! Woot!

Day 291

Day 284

It's hot in Texas in the summer. About the only thing that survives in these conditions are these crepe myrtles - and they are everywhere. These are my favorite color, although they come in about six colors and a billion different sizes.

Day 275

Drove out to Cedar Hill tonight & was rewarded with this view on the drive home. Another gorgeous Texas sunset!

Day 271

Scenery. or lack thereof....

Day 241

Texas is crazy hot already this summer & the intense heat couples with all the humidity in the air to create some pretty dramatic clouds. Sadly they were all for show today & didn't actually give us any rain.

Day 206

Spring storms moved into town today. Some folks caught a rainbow but all I found were tall grey clouds...

Day 201

The real Uncle Sam, Sam Houston, in Huntsville, Texas. God Bless Texas, yee-haw!

Just because we haven't had a burnt orange sighting around here in a while...

Day 105

Yes, another photo of a Texas sunset. Can't help it. We get some pretty amazing sunsets here, even in the midst of suburban sprawl. We should start getting some *really* cool clouds once we move into spring storm season, but for today, I thought this was pretty neat, too.

Day 101

I really intended to go to the park today and enjoy the afternoon sun and warmer temps. But, three days of hockey games and a long run left me fairly exhausted, and it was all I could muster to get outside the front door and take this shot of the pre-dusk sky.

Day 100

I ran from home through most of Arlington and up into Euless for today's hockey game. I crossed two highways along the way, and on I-30, I got to use the new pedestrian walkway on the Center Street bridge. The new bridge was built to accomodate heavier traffic from the Cowboys' Stadium, and it is a really nice addition to our city (even if it is at the top of a steep incline...).

Day 90

So, ideally, there would be a great burnt-orange tribute or something here today, celebrating another National Championship. And yet, not so much. Instead, I drowned my sorrows in a nice warm-from-the-oven cherry-apple pie with Bluebell. It kinda made it better. No, not really.

Day 46

This was an oil painting of the Tower and Littlefield Fountain we found that was intended to go over the mantel at The House That Was Not To Be. But I love it so much I put it in the hallway off the breakfast area, so I walk by it about 100 times a day. Hook 'em!

Day 33

This is the view from my office chair, looking out the window at the biggish oak tree in the front yard. The leaves are finally turning, so they're starting to match the orange in my stained glass panel. Pretty pleasing perspective if I say so myself. Also, please note the bokeh effect in the background - it's starting to get all photographic up in here!

Day 16

Not long after we left Horseshoe Bay and Marble Falls, we saw this herd of Longhorns contentedly munching in the field alongside the road. Until now, the only Longhorns I've seen outside of Royal Memorial Stadium have been at the zoo. Hook 'em!

Day 15

Nearly perfect evening on the lake, after an amazing day of relaxation and friendship. That's what I like about Texas!
