Day 346

Still not cleared to skate but we've got the uniform now. Sadly his usual number 10 was already taken, so we have to get used to 14.

Day 339

He doesn't look dizzy... Recovering from a concussion this week, Sandro has been relegated to the activity level of the fat cat in his lap.

Day 261

Hockey tryouts, part deux. Because he didn't get a contract with Dallas Stars Selects for the fall, we had to find an alternate team for Sandro to play with. Luckily, we have some connections and were able to get a one-on-one tryout with one of the Mansfield coaches, so he will be playing high school JV hockey this year.

Day 226

Had a nice relaxing afternoon with the Strothers today, hanging out & watching baseball & hockey. It was the perfect time to pass on Benjamin's first skates to Jorde. He's got ice hockey skates, and now he has inlines, too!

Day 212

We headed out to Keller today to watch our friends' son in his indoor soccer game, and afterward, had a chance to snap a pic of him with Alessandro and another of their buddies. These guys have played hockey together for five years now, and it's really great to see them supporting each other off the rink.

Day 210

Had to get the boy's skates sharpened so Friday date night ended up being a walk around Grapevine Mills mall sharing gelato & coveting the shiny gear in this place. Such is life as a hockey mom!

Day 190

This is probably a total cheat, but I don't really care. Our running/walking team participated in the Zoo Run Run 5K today, and a teammate snapped this photo of most of the group before the start. No, I didn't actually take the photo, but I did take one that is similar a few minutes afterward, just not on my camera, so I don't have it. This will do quite nicely.

Day 183

Had a great morning with the hockey team at the paintball party out by Lake Grapevine. I only got hit twice in the back of the leg - hurt like heck! The boys (and dads) had a lot of fun.

Day 127

"H" is for Hockey. We like it best when DSS wins!

Day 74

The team held a Dad/Son game tonight instead of practice. It got kinda nuts there toward the end, so I don't think anyone really knows what the score ended up. Also, I don't think we're sure who had a better time out there!

Day 58

Hockey great Brett Hull led a clinic for Sandro's hockey team today, so the kids got to learn how to shoot from an NHL Hall of Famer. Pretty cool experience, and something the kids will remember for a long time.

Day 50

A win this afternoon and a visit with the Stanley Cup put these guys in a pretty good mood. The Dallas Stars helped out by winning their game 4-3 in overtime, too.

Day 49

The team split their games today, losing a rough one in the morning, but rallying to beat the team from Mexico in the late game. Yes, for people who have a hard time imagining hockey in Texas, wrap your head around hockey in Mexico! And, they were pretty good, actually.

Day 23

Tough shoot-out loss today. Hate to see them lose especially when they play so hard. I have a hard time watching when it gets very physical. And since it's hockey, it gets very physical, well, all the time.

Day 2

Time out.

Boys lost 4-3 in overtime. Tough loss to a really good team.
