Day 56
So right about the time we dropped off the boys for their Friday night with Grandpa, the AT&T workers did something to the electric cables and cut power to his block. We lit some candles in the living room and hung out for a while. His neighbors dropped by and we chatted the evening away until the Oncor crews showed up and turned the lights back on. Ended up being a great evening, and we made some new friends, too (and BONUS! They're both runners! squee!!).

Day 55
The school choir had their Christmas concert tonight, and I was explicitly banned from taking video of the performance by my son. I was permitted to take one photograph per song, however, so I did get a shot of the full choir after their last number. Of course, he's in the back, so you can barely see him - I think he preferred it that way!

Day 54
Ended up we did get a li'l bit o' snow in South A today, just a smidge. It didn't stick around for long, and I didn't stick around long enough outside to wait for it to accumulate in the yard - it was time to go in and get some hot cocoa!!

Day 53
First real cold front of the season blew through today - it was cold and rainy all afternoon, and we had to turn on the heater for the first time. There are rumors of flurries later this week - I'll believe it when it happens. Welcome to December in Texas.

Day 52
This is the stained glass panel above the front door at Benjamin's school. On the way back from my run around the block during the Scout meeting, I noticed how the light from inside glowed through the window. I may or may not have made the boy wait after the meeting while I set up the tripod and got this shot...

Day 51
The Christmas display at Target. "We all know that Christmas is a big commercial racket. It's run by a big eastern syndicate, you know. "
